I’m a vet myself. I was an Army combat medic when I deployed to Baghdad for 16 months in support of OIF. My brothers and I were there at the beginning of the war in 2003 through July of 2004.

I don’t consider myself any of those things listed above. I fought in combat beside some of the greatest men I will ever meet. They are the heroes. The ones who made the ultimate sacrifice are heroes. Not all of my brothers from my platoon made it back. That’s why it’s important to honor them. That’s why we honor you.
